Virginia Tech

The university has begun its decennial planning process on the campus master plan. The university architect's office is working with Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas, planning consultants, to update the plan that guides future university development.

Campus master planning works in concert with the university's goals and aspirations. Input from the university community, indeed from the general public, is an important component of the university overall data gathering effort.

The campus master plan guides physical development in concert with the university's mission and current or future academic and student life programming. The plan identifies future development sites, guidelines for building design, assesses campus utilities, and integrates transportation and parking strategies.

The planning process continues through spring semester with at least one more public information session. Through this website the university architect's office is sharing the preliminary findings and recommendations with the university community. A final plan will be presented to the university Board of Visitors this summer.
